Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP)

An ACP is a registered professional, either a paramedic or a nurse who is clinically trained to assess, diagnose and treat patients. They are highly skilled and have expertise in caring for patients with minor illnesses and conditions. They work closely with the doctors in general practice and can prescribe medications.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
