Prescriptions

Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in the following ways:

  • online
  • in person at the surgery
  • by post
  • by fax

Please allow 2 working days, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.

At Marshalls Cross, we have 2 working days from the time of receiving your repeat prescription request to complete the prescription, therefore if it has been 2 working days and we have a nominated chemist where your prescription is sent EPS, please contact your nominated chemist to check where they are up to with dispensing your items, please do not contact the practice.

Electronic Prescription Service

We also offer the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you nominated. this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

If you have been advised by the surgery that your medication review is due please use our online form.
